Portfolio Center
Rebalance with the tax lots, costs and limits already in the answer.
Portfolio Center brings together model portfolios, drift, tax lots and a live risk summary for every account. Tell it what to do in plain English - create a model, rebalance a group, raise cash - and you get a preview to confirm. A deterministic optimizer proposes the trades; the AI plans and explains, and never decides.
Accounts, models and drift
- Accounts (funds) with cash, positions and tax lots, valued at the latest close.
- Model portfolios with target weights, a cash target and a drift tolerance.
- Drift per holding against the model, and accounts that are out of tolerance.
Tax-aware rebalancing
- Losing and lowest-gain lots are sold first, or first-in first-out where the account requires it.
- A cap on realized gains cuts each sale to the largest size under the cap.
- Estimated transaction costs, a minimum trade size and the cash target are respected.
A risk summary that updates
- Concentration: top position, top five, effective number of holdings.
- Sector and issuer exposure, with share classes of one issuer counted together.
- Simple factor betas (market, size, growth) and correlation spikes between top holdings.
What-ifs in plain English
- "Trim tech exposure 5% without realizing gains over $10k."
- The AI turns the sentence into bounded, structured parameters and shows them to you first.
- The optimizer, not the AI, decides the trades. Without the AI, a built-in parser handles the common phrasings.
A command bar for the whole Center
- "Create a model called Dividend Growth: 40% JNJ, KO, PEP and PG, 30% Health Care, 20% Utilities, 10% cash." "Rebalance the growth accounts to their model, no gains over $10k, keep 2% cash." "Raise $250k cash in BAL-1, lowest tax impact."
- The request becomes a plan of typed actions from a fixed list - never code. You see every account or model it touches, before and after, and what it leaves out and why; nothing happens until you confirm, and large plans need a typed confirmation.
- Trades are never placed from the bar: they become proposals in the intent pipeline, pre-checked by compliance, and orders only when a person creates them. The same bar works on the blotter, the workflow monitor and workflow rules.
AI
Where the AI helps
- Plans a command typed or dictated in plain English as typed actions, for you to preview and confirm.
- Writes the reason for each proposal from the optimizer's own numbers.
- Translates a what-if sentence into the optimizer's parameters, for you to confirm.
- Narrates the risk summary.
Deterministic
What decides
- The optimizer: same inputs, same trades, every time.
- Every proposed trade is pre-checked against the active compliance rules.
- Nothing becomes an order until a person with "propose" on the account accepts it.
